During early 2003, the Board of the KR Alumni Club, launched the first KR Alumni Survey, in order to gain a good understanding of the types of events and activities that the majority of our 'customers', you, the KR Alumni, want.
The survey generated a massive 61% response rate We have captured so much knowledge about what the majority of KR Alumni want, that since then, we've been focused on delivering the most popular events and activities that you requested. During 2005, we organized 'repeats' of the most successful events, including joint events with other Alumni Clubs, Go-Karting, whilst also successfully introducing community projects under the Kellogg-Recanati Cares initiative.
Perhaps the biggest surprise resulting from the KR Alumni Survey, and I believe a spirit that already differentiates our alumni club from others, was that 110 of you offered to help the Alumni Club in one way or the other. Offers of help included event sponsorship, help in KR Alumni placement, offers to host Open door events, offers to organize Common Interest Activities, willing to be a speaker at alumni events, offers to join the KR Alumni Board, and giving access to special places or people. Collectively, we now refer to this huge potential resource as our KR Assets. Over the last 24 months, as part of our growing alumni helping alumni culture, we have already made use of many of the kind offers to help.
As someone once said, “Rome wasn’t built in a day”. I sincerely hope that together with my Board, we are moving the KR Alumni Club in the right direction. We know where we are going, and we don’t claim to be there yet. However, we have a good team, we have a huge boost from our KR Assets, and you’ve told us clearly the type of events and activities you want. So all I can ask is that when we organize them, you attend the events you’ve asked for!
