Welcome to the Class of 1984

Kellogg Reunion. May 1 -3, 2009.

What an exciting weekend! Nearly 100 classmates joined reunion weekend for the largest celebration ever with over 1900 alumni and guests. This huge turnout began Friday evening at the TG on Deering Meadow and Blu Sushi Lounge in Evanston. The Saturday night Class Party at Fulton’s was a fantastic celebration with a special performance by The Bullets. Thanks to everyone that attended and supported the 25th Reunion class gift.

A big thank you to the 25th Reunion committee for making this such a great 25th Reunion – you can look forward to the 30th!

Giving Highlights
The Class of 1984 has raised $333,619. The Class has supported the school in a way never seen before – in fact; the class has doubled its giving since your 20th ($123k to $333k in five years). The Class of 1984 has given generously over the years—but as of May 29, 2009, the class had just 18% participation, which is less than the peak of 25%. The Reunion Committee is pleased to announce a special challenge grant that we hope will encourage increased participation and contributions in commemoration of your 25th Reunion and Kellogg’s Centennial.

The Class of 1984 Reunion Challenge Grant!
One of your classmates, who prefers to remain anonymous, has offered to match our contributions in two ways—to prompt more of us to contribute, even modestly! Here’s how it works:

  • The 30% Participation Goal:  If the class reaches 30% participation in the Reunion gift campaign by August 31, 2009, our challenger will donate an additional $50,000 to Kellogg.
  • The Dean’s Council Contributors’ Goal:  Every first-time Dean’s Council donor ($1000+ or $500 + $500 company match), will be matched 1:1.  In addition, any new 5 year Dean’s Council donor ($1000 annual pledge for 5 years), will be matched 1:1 up to $50,000.  You can increase the impact of your first donation and possibly double it!

Thanks to everyone who contributed and who made the effort to come back and celebrate this milestone. Encourage everyone to participate and consider making a gift by August 31, 2009 to show our support. Click here to give.
