Worldwide Welcome Week - Germany

On September 26th the German Alumni Club celebrated a wonderful WWW event in Kronberg, a suburb just north of Frankfurt. The German Alumni club was very fortunate and grateful to receive an invitation from Fidelity Investments to their German Headquarter - a historical mansion connected to an elegant high-tech office building providing office space for some 500 Asset Managers.

Combining WWW with a content-driven event, the Kellogg Alumni community again was at the pulse of a top-of-mind corporate issue: “Occupational savings accounts - Made in Germany”

While the German pension system is in “deep restructuring” and far behind some of the more innovative international standards, Corporate Germany views the pension offering as an issue of differentiation and competitive advantage in attracting highly skilled employees.

Fidelity Investments and the Kellogg Club invited prominent professionals from pension consulting, the asset management industry, and from corporate Germany for a panel discussion.

Dr. Klaus Mössle, co-head of Fidelity’s German Asset Management Group introduced the audience in a first speech to the structure and status of the German pension system in general and to ‘occupational savings accounts’ in particular.

Moderated by Murat Ünal, co-chair of the Alumni Club Leaders in Germany, the panel discussion provided an audience of 45-50 Alumni and guests, including representatives from the media, with deep insight and first-hand experiences on ‘occupational savings accounts’ and the relevant tax/legal matters.

The Worldwide Welcome Event and evening was rounded out by areception with the Fidelity Expert Team and the panellists followed by a chill out party at the nearby Kempinski Hotel bar.

The Kellogg Alumni Club of Germany is co-chaired by Roman Martens, Murat Ünal and Rüdiger Holzammer. On the steering level we are planning country-wide meetings, co-operate with other European Club Leaders and plan 'cross-border' events; we also assist the Club Leaders of our German regional chapters.

There are regional chapters in Munich, Frankfurt and Hamburg, which organize regional events and monthly round table meetings in the respective areas. If you are interested to attend or helping organize an event, take a look at the contact page for your regional chapter contact.
